Therapy for Adults Who Feel Stuck, Unheard, or Burned Out.

If you’re here, there’s a reason. Life feels hard right now. Maybe harder than it should. Maybe harder than you feel like you can explain to the people around you.

I work with those who are struggling with trauma, substance use, grief, and the long-term impact of feeling unheard or marginalized. Many of the people I work with have tried therapy before and walked away thinking,

“That didn’t help.”

If that’s you, I want you to know I take that seriously.

The People I Work Best With

I work with adults who are willing, even cautiously, to look at patterns that are no longer working for them.

Many of my clients come to therapy because of:

  • Childhood trauma, including complex PTSD

  • Substance use or a history of addiction, personal or familial

  • Religious trauma and its impact on identity or self-worth

  • Grief and loss, including death or major life changes

  • LGBTQ+ stress, identity exploration, or marginalization

  • A deep sense of feeling misunderstood or unsupported

You don’t need the “right words” to start therapy. We figure those out together.

What Brings You Here

Most people I work with aren’t in crisis mode. They’re in survival mode.

They feel stuck. Disconnected. Exhausted. They might say things like:

  • “I feel like therapy is pointless.”

  • “I’ve tried this before and it didn’t work.”

  • “I don’t really have anyone I can lean on.”

  • “I know something needs to change, but I don’t know how.”

Often, trauma and substance use are part of the story, but not the whole story. The harder part is believing that change is even possible.

Why Getting Help Feels So Hard

If you’re struggling to reach out, that makes sense.

A lot of my clients have faced:

  • Stigma around mental health treatment

  • Previous therapy experiences that felt invalidating or ineffective

  • Hopelessness or lack of motivation

  • Limited natural support systems

  • A belief that they should be able to handle this on their own

I don’t see these as barriers you need to push through. I see them as part of what we work with.

How I Approach Therapy

I listen first. I want to understand you before offering insight.

I’m not here to rush you, fix you, or tell you who you should be. Once I understand your story, I’ll be honest and direct with you. I’ll challenge thought patterns and behaviors that are keeping you stuck, but always through compassion and respect.

People who know me well would tell you that I’m quiet at first, intentional, and steady. When it matters, I’ll say what needs to be said, even if it’s hard to hear in the moment.

A Message Directly to You

If you are still reading... then you are serious about this. Good for you!

Life is hard. Having mental health challenges doesn’t make it any easier. Lacking support from friends or family adds even more stress, sometimes to the point where you start wondering what the point even is.

I hear you. I see you. And while our experiences may be different, I understand what it’s like to go through difficult seasons alone.

You don’t have to do this by yourself. If you’re ready, I’m here, and together we can begin figuring out the best way to move forward.
