Therapy for Children, Teens, and Adults in Kernersville, NC | Jenn Fuqua, LCSW

If you're reading this, you probably already know something isn't working. Maybe you look fine on the outside. You're showing up, getting things done, keeping it together. But on the inside you're exhausted, overwhelmed, or quietly carrying something you can't quite name. Maybe it's anxiety that won't shut off. Maybe it's old wounds that keep showing up in your relationships, your sleep, your self-talk. Maybe you've been telling yourself you'll figure it out on your own, and you're still waiting for that to happen.

“You don't have to keep waiting.”

You Might Be Here Because...

  • You feel stuck, even though you're trying your best

  • Anxiety, stress, or past trauma is affecting your sleep, your focus, or your relationships

  • You're emotionally exhausted from holding everything together

  • Patterns keep repeating and you don't know why

  • You're not in crisis, but you're not okay either

None of this means something is wrong with you. It means you're human, and you've been carrying too much for too long.

What Gets in the Way of Asking for Help

Most people think about therapy long before they ever make the call.

Maybe you wonder if your problems are "serious enough." Maybe you've tried before and it didn't click.

Maybe life is just too busy, or the cost feels like one more thing to worry about.

Maybe you've spent so long being the strong one that reaching out feels like admitting defeat.

Here's what I want you to know: those hesitations make complete sense. And they're also not the whole story.

Taking that first step is not weakness. It's usually the most honest thing a person can do.

"Taking that first step is not weakness."

How I Work

I show up warm, direct, and real.

People who know me well would say I'm "someone who makes you feel genuinely heard while also being honest with you when it matters." I don't believe in therapy that dances around hard things. I also don't believe in pushing faster than your nervous system is ready to go.

We'll work at your pace. But we will work.

The values that guide everything I do:

  • Compassion without judgment

  • Honesty with care

  • Respect for your lived experience

  • Commitment to real, lasting change

Are You Ready? I don't mean "my partner signed me up so therefore I am told I am ready." I mean ready to step up and start working on making your own life better. So let's try again, you ready?

What We Can Work Through Together

I work with children, adults, & couples navigating:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Depression and mood challenges

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Life transitions and identity shifts

  • Relationship stress and communication

  • Emotional regulation and burnout

  • Grief and loss

My approach draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and person-centered care. I always show up ready to support my clients where they are and provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care and Neurodivergent-affirming support to all my clients. No matter who you are. Where you come from. I'm here for you. That's a lot of letters, but the short version is this: I use what actually works for you, not a one-size-fits-all formula.

My Background

I'm Jenn Fuqua, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience working with people across some of the most complex and high-stakes environments in mental health care.

I've worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, with LGBTQ+ youth, with adults navigating homelessness, trauma, substance use, chronic illness, domestic violence, and serious mental illness. I've done crisis work, discharge planning, community outreach, and long-term individual therapy.

That breadth of experience isn't just a resume line. It means I've sat with people in some of the hardest moments a person can face, and I've learned how to be steady, present, and genuinely useful when things are complicated.

I hold active licensure as an LCSW and bring specialized training in Trauma-Focused CBT, making me equipped to support clients working through trauma at any stage of the healing process.
