Anxiety Therapy for Moms in Kernersville, NC
The mental load doesn't show up on a to-do list, but you're still carrying every ounce of it.
The Mental Load Doesn't Show Up on a To-Do List
But you're still carrying every ounce of it. The appointments, the school forms, the birthday parties, the mental inventory of everyone's needs but your own. This kind of anxiety doesn't always look like panic. Sometimes it just looks like never fully turning off.
What This Actually Looks Like
Feeling like you're the default parent for absolutely everything
Trouble turning your brain off even after the kids are finally asleep
Snapping at people you love and feeling terrible about it immediately after
A constant, low hum of dread that something important is being forgotten
Feeling like you've quietly disappeared into everyone else's needs
This isn't limited to new moms. It can show up years into parenting, whether your kids are toddlers or teenagers, and it tends to build quietly until it doesn't feel quiet anymore.
This Isn't About Trying Harder
Another planner app or productivity hack isn't going to fix this, because the problem was never that you're disorganized. Therapy gives you an actual space to unpack what's driving the overwhelm, instead of just managing around it.
Real Sessions That Fit a Real Schedule
We offer flexible scheduling, including telehealth options with several of our clinicians, so therapy doesn't become one more thing you have to squeeze in. As therapists we can't prescribe medication, but we work collaboratively with your primary care provider and can help with referrals to specialists in the Piedmont Triad when that's part of the plan.
Is this just for new moms?
No. This is for moms at any stage, whether you have a newborn or teenagers, and anywhere in between.
I don't have a diagnosis. I'm just overwhelmed all the time. Is that enough of a reason to start therapy?
Yes. Most people who start therapy aren't in crisis. Feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, and quietly running on empty is a completely valid reason to reach out.
What if I don't have time for weekly therapy?
We can talk through a cadence that's actually realistic for your life. Something consistent, even if it's not weekly, tends to be more sustainable than an all-or-nothing approach, and telehealth options can cut down on the time it takes.
Will you just tell me to meditate more?
No. We're not interested in quick fixes that treat the symptoms without touching what's actually driving the overwhelm. The work is about building changes that hold up in your actual life.
A lot of my stress is tension with my partner. Can this help with that too?
Individual therapy often does shift how you show up in that relationship, even without your partner in the room. We can also talk through whether additional support makes sense for what you're dealing with.
What if I realize I need medication too?
As therapists we can't prescribe, but we collaborate with your primary care provider or a psychiatric prescriber, and can help with referrals in the Piedmont Triad if that's part of what you need.
